Carpattes, seconde collaboration de Transient Cat & Cataractes, donne suite à leur premier Opus sorti il y a un an. La palette sonore du duo est sublimée dans un voyage haletant à travers un triptyque immersif de paysages sonores chaotiques et insaisissables.

I - Ouvrir les yeux entouré de débris sonores flottant à la surface d’eaux inconnues et glacées, poursuivi par une cohorte de créatures jaillissant d’un brouillard de cendres tranchantes — tenter de se débattre pour se rendre compte qu’on a coulé depuis longtemps ; trop tard.

II - La menace devient tellurique et vibrante, nos sentiments tournent au tragique et nos efforts sont déconcertants et gesticulants ; pris en tenaille insoutenable entre deux mondes : l’un aérien, l’autre chtonien. Trouver une once d’espoir dans des appels lancinants et lointains, mais en réalité seulement se débattre en fouillant le souterrain aveuglément.

III - Nous rejoindrons le devenir vapeur des organismes décomposés, qui révèlent toutes les souffrances compressées des milliers de millénaires passés contenues en un fluide dense, épais, qui piège la lumière, et finit par s’en extraire.

Following their first Opus released last year, Carpattes marks the second collaborative work of Transient Cat & Cataractes. The immersive three-movement piece digs deeper in their common sonic palette; a journey unveiling a thrilling triptych of untampered, wildering soundscapes.

I - You open your eyes and realize that sonic waste surrounds you; chased by a cohort of unknown creatures appearing and gathering elusively out of a fog of cold-ash-noise — trying to get out of this before you realize that we have already drowned in colder, harsher abysses; long ago.

II - The menace gets trembling, telluric. Trapped nowhere between two antagonist worlds: aerial and chtonian. Some hope emerges throbbingly from summoning distant sirens to eternally rejoin them, blindly searching the undergrounds with unexpected claws.

III - There, the standstill state you lied-in starts to heat up, vaporizing all the degraded pain stored in million-year-old corpuscles — in a glimpse of time you peacefully get free from the thick, dense, light-trapping fluid you became.
